For very dry chapped lips:
With a Qtip or even your little finger, put a little bit of mustard oil in your navel. Do this regularly, and your lips will never be dry. I'm sure Olive oil works just as well.

Thanks for this great collection of information of the products. It sounds good that we can prepare lip balm by ourself at home.
As this discussion is for the care of lips. So, the main problem we face is chapping.
Well I am using natural cosmetic skin care productthat contain Vitamin -E, castor oil and essential nutrients that gives a soft and protective coating(from sun and wind damage)and protect lips from being chapped and mantain its natural look results as nice smooth lips. If you want you can also prefer Organic Natural Cosmetics at http://www.green-mandarine.com.au/Natural-lipstick/

Ashley: Thanks for the link. I haven't tried those yet, but looks worth exploring...

It's good that you're crafty. I haven't sewn anything for quite a while, and I miss that. There is something really heartwarming and fulfilling about making things by yourself, would you agree? But I'm trying my best to resist the insane shopping of the season. Too easy to get swamped in the craziness of the malls. I actually find shopping online allows me to stick to the plan more effectively and so far I'm still well on budget :)

Wow those recipes sound like a lot of fun! I'm thinking next year I may try making lip balms as Christmas gifts. Maybe. Last year I made all hand sewn bags for everyone on my list. (I started them in august to give me plenty of time to complete them) This year my planning hasn't gone so well, and in turn I've had to sacrifice my time and sanity trying to go shopping. Yelp! Haha anyways, I think I would love to try a rose essential oil lip balm.. Also, have you tried afterglow's organic lip love? I love their lipsticks, and they multi-task by being lipstick and being just as nurturing as lip balm. plus they avoid those pretty princess colors haha!

Great post and that recipe looks really interesting! If you are looking for a more natural skin care routine to go along with your organic make up choices I would recommend Garden Girl. Their products work great without using harsh chemicals and harmful parabens. You can check them out at http://www.gardengirlskincare.com.
