Organic Chocolate Skin Care. No, You Are Not Dreaming.

Now here is something that will make your taste buds sing and your skin glow even before you put it on — Organic Chocolate Skin Care! Yes. And I am not kidding. Apparently it is a steadily, though silently growing movement among the health-oriented fashionistas. And I cannot believe I haven’t heard of it before.

Chocolate is my greatest ambition in life. Finding excuses to eat and to use it. It is so great to finally have it back on the “nice list”. (We are talking about real raw chocolate, of course, not Mars bars…)

Raw chocolate is the highest known source antioxidants in the world. Not to mention the mood improving and re-energising qualities, of which anyone who has ever had a chocolate is undoubtedly aware. And of course, it’s aphrodisiac lore..

So, without further ado, allow me to share some of the scrumptious chocolaty findings I’ve made today.

Raw Chocolate Face Pack by Raw Gaia

Ingredients: organic chocolate, sun-dried red clay, organic turmeric, organic amla fruit powder (amla is an ayurvedic herb, known for great toning properties).

I think Raw Gaia is a company that got its philosophy right. The best things for our skin are natural organic raw ingredients — just as nature intended. If you browse through their site, you’ll find many more delicious and healthy ideas, with or without chocolate. And maybe even ideas for trying something on your own. For example, I already have cold-pressed coconut butter in my pantry… But I never thought of it as a body butter, or a hair conditioner. Hmm… If I do try that, I’ll post my findings.

Chocolate Mousse Hydration Masque by Eminence

Now, I must caution you — even though the list of ingredients reads like the kind of mousse that would be just as wonderful on a cake, as it would be on a skin, people with nut allergies should beware. It contains almond and macademia nut oils. Other than that, I can’t believe how delicious this little jar appears.

Indulge Lip Balm by Sweet Beauty

Sweet Beauty is a spa with a line of organic chocolate skin care. Though it appears that they only guarantee that the chocolate is organic, other ingredients are of “highest quality available”. Here is a quote from the site:

“Sweet Beauty formulates with high quality ingredients, organic when available. Sweet Beauty products contain no chemical preservatives and are made in small batches to ensure freshness. Please use within 6 months opened or 1 year unopened.”

A chocolate lip balm sounds like my dream come true. Though they should probably put a warning sign: “This product could cause you to bite of your lips. Exersise caution.” But, of course, you could always put it on your partner’s lips… They’ll never know what hit them.

Great site! How did you like the Raw Chocolate Face Pack? It looks wonderful! I love Eminence products. I have their Pear and Poppy Seed microderm polisher and the Eight Greens Phyto Mask. I wrote about them here: http://vegansnorkeler.blogspot.com/search/label/Skin%20care

Thanks :-) I haven’t tried it yet. I really want to though. Looks delicious. I’m a chocolote fanatic — in my books, you can’t go wrong with chocolate. Especially raw and organic :-)

You have probably heard about the many benefits of Shea Butter. It is used for many different things such as dry skin, irritation, muscle aches, chapped lips, dry hair, and many more.

Shea Butter is made from the kernel of the Karite tree. Before it is made, the Karite tree produces a fruit. It is a green-orange fruit which is about the size of an apricot. It is deliciously sweet, and high in vitamin C and other nutrients. When the fruit is eaten, there is a kernel left over. This is what is used to make the Shea Butter that we love for our skin!

Shea Butter is more than just great for your skin. Knowing that it is safe enough to eat is important. You no longer have to worry about which kind of cream and moisturizer you can use for your baby’s sensitive skin, your chapped lips, or even your face. It is something that can be used for a ton of different things. Thanks, Mother Nature!
